Areas I Work With
People come to therapy for many different reasons, and often what brings someone isn’t easily captured by a single label. This page names some of the experiences I commonly work with, though it isn’t an exhaustive list. You don’t need to fit neatly into any category to begin therapy.

Emotional difficulties

anxiety and persistent worry
low mood or depression, including feeling stuck
social anxiety and difficulties in social situations
feeling overwhelmed or emotionally disconnected
patterns of coping that no longer feel helpful, including addiction, compulsive behaviours or self-medicating

Loss and change

grief and bereavement
loss of identity or direction
major life transitions

Relationships and patterns

relationship difficulties
recurring relational or emotional patterns that feel difficult to change
difficulties with closeness, trust, or boundaries
lonliness or feeling isolated from others

Sense of self

self-criticism or low self-esteem
identity questions
feeling disconnected from yourself

Many people experience a combination of these difficulties, shaped by their relationships, histories, and current circumstances. Therapy offers a space to explore how these experiences connect, rather than treating them as isolated problems.
